The role of libraries in the Open-Access-movement - A comparison between Germany, Great Britain and the USA
- Das Thema „Open Access“ nimmt in den letzten Jahren immer mehr an Bedeutung zu. Bibliotheken nehmen eine wichtige Position im wissenschaftlichen Publikationsprozess ein und sind somit in Open Access mit eingebunden. Die vorliegende Arbeit untersucht, inwieweit die Bibliotheken in Deutschland, Großbritannien und den USA auf Open Access Einfluss nehmen. Ziel ist es, die internationalen Unterschiede der Rahmenbedingungen zu analysieren und miteinander zu vergleichen.
- Over the last years "Open Access" has developed into an important issue. Libraries are assuming an important position in the scholarly publication process and are therefore involved in "Open Access". The presented thesis deals with the role of libraries within the Open Access movement. Special interest is given to the development process in Germany, Great Britain and the United States of America. The intention is to analyze the international differences of the framework conditions and compare them.
