  • Disabled persons can compensate existing barriers through digital products and gain access to new spaces. It is important that as many people as possible can access these products equally and without new barriers. This is also represented in legislation and guidelines for information services of public offices and from 2025 on also for certain private companies. Automated Monitoring Systems (AMS) can be used to check the accessibility of web-sites. AMS scan websites automatically and periodically. The main subject matter of this bachelor’s thesis is a comparison of three AMS: Pa11y, ARC Monitoring und Siteim-prove. First, we compared the AMS in qualitative aspects such as pricing, hosting, supported guidelines or usage of gamification. To gain quantitative data we then compared the scan results of a constructed test web-site that includes failures for all Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 suc-cess criteria. The findings were evaluated by the evaluation criteria coverage and cor-rectness. Coverage includes coverage of WCAG success criteria, principles, guidelines and affected user groups as established in EN 301549. To analyse the AMS‘ usability we conducted a Heuristic Evaluation after Nielsen’s 10 Heuristics. Pa11y has the best coverage of all AMS but the worst correctness due to many false positives from unspecific notices. Without incorporating these the calculated coverage was worse, but the correctness was better. ARC Monitoring could convince the least as its usability was bad and the quantitative outcome was mediocre. Siteimprove has the biggest range of functions and the best usability. The quantitative results are similar to Pa11y’s when accounted without notices. The coverage of all three AMS combined shows that they cannot replace a manual check. Most of the results do not exceed a coverage of 50 %.
