  • The popularity of the game genre MMOG continues to grow. More and more people are taken by the virtual world. This causes several problems. For example gamers are investing a great amount of time to play these games; as a result this time is missing for the care of social contacts in their real-life surroundings. Furthermore the gamers are spending their time sitting in front of the computer and thus neglect their needs for physical activities. Part of the bachelor thesis will be a game concept which is, inter alia, trying to counteract the problems mentioned above. Some MMOGs and other games will be analyzed for this reason. The results of the analysis will be unsatisfied in relation to the abovementioned problems. These cognitions will enter the innovative concept of a mobile browser game. The concept of this game will be a combination of a location-based MMOG, a browser game and a role-playing game for smartphones. This concept will be developed for a fixed target group, where two personas are the representatives. To shape the game as interesting as possible for the target group, the concept will try to satisfy most of the human basic needs through the functions of the game. Because of that, it should trigger positive emotions of the gamer. Additionally the game concept will try to enhance the gamer to do more physical activities and more social interaction with people in their real-life surroundings. Therefore the missions will be location-based and gamers can only interact with other gamers when they are within range. The game concept will be developed to a point where the game can be implemented. A card sorting method will be used for the creation of a simple and clear navigation structure. As well a prototype will be built to verify the game concept. This prototype contains a clear interface, a clear navigation structure and the most important functions of the game.
