N2  - Das Dokumentenmanagement ist als Teil des Informationsmanagements in Organisationen jeglicher Art von zentraler Bedeutung, da diese täglich mit Dokumenten umgehen müssen. Diese Arbeit behandelt grundlegende Ansätze im Dokumentenmanagement. Hierbei wird auf Ablagesysteme, welche auf einem Aktenplan beruhen und im Speziellen auf die prozessorientierte Ablage eingegangen. Insbesondere Bibliotheken sollten als Informationseinrichtungen im Bereich des Informationsmanagements Vorbildfunktion gegenüber anderen Organisationen einnehmen. Um Bibliotheken bei der Optimierung des Informationsmanagements zu unterstützen, wurde vom Institut für Qualitätsmanagement und Organi- sationsentwicklung in Bibliotheken und Hochschulen (IQO) das Forschungsprojekt Informationsmanagement in Bibliotheken ins Leben gerufen, welches u. a. Tools zur Verbesserung des Dokumentenmanagements anbietet. In dieser Arbeit werden diese Tools zur Optimierung des Dokumentenmanagements anhand der Durchführung eines Projektes zur Reorganisation der Ablagestruktur in einer wissenschaftlichen Spezialbibliothek beschrieben und evaluiert. - Es handelt sich um eine überarbeitete Version der vorgelegten Abschlussarbeit. -
N2  - Records management, as a part of information management, is vitally important for organisations of every kind because they have to handle documents every day. This thesis will explain basic approaches of records management. Different file systems, which are based on a file plan (“Aktenplan“), will be discussed in particular process-oriented filing systems. In this context libraries should function as guiding examples to other organisations. To help libraries optimise their information management, the research project „Informationsmanagement in Bibliotheken“ was founded by the „Institut für Qualitätsmanagement und Organisationsentwicklung in Bibliotheken und Hochschulen“ (IQO) at the Stuttgart Media University (Hochschule der Medien, HdM) with the intention to provide libraries with special tools to improve their information management. In this thesis those tools will be described and evaluated on the base of a project which was carried out at an academic special library.
